Epic Women’s Feud Set to Come to an End in Ironman Match at WWE Roadblock
Sasha Banks and Charlotte have controlled the Women’s Division on Monday Night Raw over the past few months and in the process have made a lot of history for the brand and the women of the WWE.
Sasha and Charlotte have competed in the main event Raw twice in the past few weeks and competed in the first ever female Hell in a Cell match at the Pay-Per-View of the same name back in October.
Charlotte has lost her Women’s title to Sasha twice on Monday Night Raw, which means that she is still undefeated in singles matches at Pay-Per-Views since her debut in the Summer of 2015. This stat is even more impressive when it is added that Charlotte hasn’t missed a since Pay-per-view since then either.
Sasha won back the Women’s title in an incredible Falls Count Anywhere match on Raw last week and this week she made the decision to ensure that her feud with Charlotte reaches an epic ending.
Sasha and Charlotte will now collide for the Raw Women’s Championship at WWE Roadblock: End of the line next Sunday night in the first ever main roster IronWoman match.
Sasha obviously has experience in this match since she faced Bayley back at NXT Takeover: Respect last year in the first-ever IronWoman match and lost to the huggable superstar. Given all the history these two have been making over the past few weeks, this will be another notch for arguably two of the best female wrestlers in the company currently.
Charlotte will be putting her record on the line on Sunday night whilst Sasha puts her Women’s title up too, the thought is that Sasha could be set to walk out with the title since she will then step into a feud with Bayley as the duo recreate one of the best feuds that the company had ever seen when they were down in NXT.
Charlotte could be set to face UFC star Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 33 next year if WWE can make all the relevant agreements match up. Right now Charlotte is considered to be the best female wrestler in the company and the perfect women to step up and fight someone of Rousey’s stature.
WWE are really hoping that they can make that match happen and would then begin building it up as early as The Royal Rumble when the Road to WrestleMania is officially underway. This is why Sasha and Charlotte need to put the exclamation point on their lengthy feud next Sunday night and then they can both move forward into new feuds.
Many of the WWE Universe have been vocal about the fact that Sasha and Charlotte have been at the forefront of everything female related on Mondy Night Raw and that has meant that many women have been overlooked in order for them to continue making history and breaking records.
Women like Nia Jax, Summer Rae, Dana Brooke, Bayley and Alicia Fox are also on Raw but they have been taken off Raw in recent weeks in order for WWE to completely focus on the feud between Charlotte and Sasha.
The duo had an incredibly brutal match at Hell in a Cell and an IronWoman match with a 30-minute time limit could well be a show stealing match for the women once again at another pay-per-view event. It is a match that is often used to end rivalries because there is no way to actually top an Ironman match.
Charlotte and Sasha will need to be at their absolute best to be able to fight for a solid 30 minutes and only one woman will actually walk out on top. RoadBlock itself is shaping up quite nicely as the final pay-per-view event of the WWE calendar, it has already been announced that Roman Reigns will fight Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship whilst Seth Rollins takes on Chris Jericho in what should be an incredible showing from both Rollins and Jericho.
Announcing such an incredible match for the event will definitely add to the pay-per-view sales and it can only serve to do much bigger things for both women and the credibility of the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.
